Sentence Fragment

[edit]

The final sentence of the following makes no sense whatsoever:

The pitstops began for the top ten on lap 17, as Webber, Alonso, Hamilton and Alguersuari all pitted. Alonso emerged behind Michael Schumacher, but was able to quickly pass the Mercedes driver. The following lap, Massa and Rosberg both pitted to restore the positions up front. After the leaders, Vettel and Button, also pitted, the order from before the pitstops was exactly restored, with the exception of Bruno Senna, who was now in 10th having not yet pitted. When he did, Sebastien Buemi, who had jumped Adrian Sutil in the stops.

... Sebastien Buemi did what after he had jumped Sutil? I'm not removing it as clearly the author meant to say something, but please correct it. DaveBrit (talk) 18:14, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like that author of this particular mistake hasn't noticed. I've simply changed the final fragment/sentence to say: "When he did, Sebastien Buemi had managed to jump in front of Sutil in the pit stops". That should hopefully solve the problem. Removing Visa Row from article

[edit]

The [TOI article] already states the status of news as follows

"According to the rumour mill and speculative stories online, Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg's visa has been rejected as has half of the Hispania Racing Team's. drives for HRT! Journalists are miffed that they have to pay more for a journalist visa than for a regular tourist visa. The entire process has proved to be tedious."

Hence the story below is not worthy of being put in the article. WP:PUS

"Further complications arose when several figures within the Formula One paddock - including Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg and "half" of the Hispania Racing team - had their visa applications rejected.[1] A senior FIA figure was quoted as saying that if the extended visa processing period continued, then up to ninety percent of people involved in the sport would be unable to attend the race.[2]"

The bold text looks like over-hyping the issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pratyushg (talkcontribs) 07:33, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it's not a controversy if someone can't secure a visa or misses his flight.PratyushG 14:11, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the edits because the quote from the FIA official - named as Matteo Bonciani - is a reliable source. Even if he is exaggerting the issue, there is clearly an issue there to begin with. The edits make it quite clear that it is a quote attributed to a person who is in a position to comment on the matter. It appears you are trying to remove content from the page in an attempt to portray India in a more-positive light. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 11:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Twitter comment

[edit]

Ten days before the race, Team Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen reported via Twitter that he was still in the process of signing documents to enter the country, labelling the process as "a joke" and describing it as needlessly complex.

==>personal opinion of an individual on social network, He can't judge the visa process of India. I'm sure he and his team will participate in 2011 Indian grand prix.Prasannatb

Nevertheless, he is entitled to his opinion. If the subsection consisted entirely of Kovalainen's opinion, then I would understand your issue. But his opinion is supported by others who have commented on the visa process. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 23:15, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Background Titles

[edit]

Should the Background section in the Report have sub-headings, such as driver changes, Drag Reduction System, etc. At the moment it just seems all too clutered.

Also should I add info about the tyre compounds for that weekend? Sas1998 (talk) 16:59, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
